Recanonicalized: the per-response raw extraction records in kpi-snapshot/genre-ranking/digital-asset-management-en/superseded/2026-09-14T004508Z.json were re-matched, re-filtered and re-aggregated without calling any AI API or extraction LLM (this is not a new measurement, so the measurement timestamp is carried over from the original run) / 51 usable responses out of 60 queries sent; the remaining 9 produced no usable response (an AI query failure or a failed company-name extraction) and are excluded from the aggregation as missing data / Dropped from the table as not a company or product: Studio, SoftwareReviews, Gartner, Forrester, Software Advice, Toolradar, G2, TechLibSoftware, The Digital Project Manager, Firefly, Smart CDN, Gartner Peer Insights, MCP, Canvas, Adobe Sensei, Brand Intelligence, Firefly GenAI, Digital Brand Templates, Gartner Magic Quadrant, Forrester Wave, Digital Asset Management (DAM), Commerce, Dynamic Media, Content Hub, Content Automation, Brand Studio, Approval Hub, Capterra, Forrester Wave Q1 2026, Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Asset Management Platforms, Forrester Wave: Digital Asset Management Systems, PIM (rows are removed only; the denominator stays the number of usable responses, so no other figure changes)

Digital asset management software: companies named by AI, ranked by appearance rate (highest first) Appearance rate = the share of usable responses in which the company was named at least once. Average rank = the average position the company was given within those responses (lower means named earlier).

What Is The Best Digital Asset Management Software, According To AI?

Bynder, in all 51 usable answers — a 100.0% , and it holds at 100.0% with each of the four assistants taken on its own. Behind it: Brandfolder 98.0%, Canto 94.1%, Adobe Experience Manager Assets 84.3%, MediaValet 78.4% and Acquia DAM 76.5%.

Those figures come out of 60 queries, put to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude on 2026-09-14 with no company name written into any of them.

The top of the table is the easy part. If your own category runs the way this one does, the comparison pages you’d reach for will hand you the first couple of rows and leave you guessing about the order of everything under them.

Claude Named Orange Logic In 13 Answers Out Of 15. Gemini, In 2

A combined ranking hides a disagreement inside an average, and in this category the disagreement starts one row down. So I read the four columns before I read the total.

That top row is the only one that holds across all four columns. ChatGPT named Bynder in 15 of 15 answers, Gemini in 15 of 15, Claude in 15 of 15 and Perplexity in all 6 it managed. One clean sweep, in a table of 106 names.

But one row down, the four stop agreeing.

Orange Logic is in 13 of Claude’s 15 answers and 2 of Gemini’s — 86.7% against 13.3%. Cloudinary runs the other way, at 14 of ChatGPT’s 15 and 3 of Gemini’s (93.3% against 20.0%), and Storyteq lands in 12 of Claude’s 15 answers against 1 of ChatGPT’s.

Those four columns don’t even hand back the same quantity of names. ChatGPT produced 78 distinct company names across its 15 answers, Gemini 52, Claude 41, and Perplexity 17 across the 6 it returned.

And if you read down the columns you can watch the four disagree about what the category even is. Gemini keeps reaching for the creative apps — Adobe Creative Cloud in all 15 of its answers, InDesign in 8, Photoshop in 7 — while Claude stays with the dedicated asset-management products and names Orange Logic, Storyteq and OpenText more often than any of the other three.

Below The Second Row, The Two Orders Come Apart

I wanted market share as the yardstick here. The category doesn’t publish one a reader can check: the only rankings search surfaces are citations of Gartner and Forrester reports whose underlying figures stay inside the paid document, so no share figure appears anywhere in this piece and the share column in the report above is empty on purpose.

With no share figure available, the reference list became a count. I searched, kept eight English-language comparison pages on 2026-09-14, and counted how many of them name each product as an option in their main list or comparison table. Six rules decided which pages made the cut, and I fixed all six before I measured anything.

Eight pages is a thin panel, and what it’s made of matters more than its size. Seven of the eight are blogs run by vendors who sell in this market; the single independent page, the industry title cmswire.com, is also the longest at 25 products. A vendor never gets counted for its own product on its own page, although which competitors it chooses to list is still its call. Read that column as “how often a name shows up on the comparison pages search returns”, and read it knowing that a single listing moves a product a full step.

Against that panel, the two orders line up for two rows. Bynder is on all eight pages and lands at 100.0%, and Brandfolder — one of the three products carried by seven pages — comes second at 98.0%.

Below those two rows they come apart, in both directions.

Three of the four products on five pages finished ahead of the two remaining seven-page products: Canto at 94.1%, Adobe Experience Manager Assets at 84.3% and MediaValet at 78.4%, against Acquia DAM at 76.5% and Aprimo at 74.5%. But the fourth five-page product, Frontify, came back at 68.6% and sits below both of them. So the five-page group didn’t move as a block — three of its four climbed past the seven-page pair, and one stayed under it.

Further down, Orange Logic is on three pages and reaches 45.1%, above Air (four pages, 37.3%) and Filecamp (four pages, 23.5%).

Then there are the names those pages never gave me at all. Dash is on none of the eight and was named in 8 answers, 15.7%. OpenText and Sitecore Content Hub appear on one page each — under the two-page cut for the reference list, so neither is in it — and come in at 27.5% and 15.7%.

The pages also carry a name that none of the assistants used. Kontainer is listed on two of the eight, and across 51 answers from four assistants no match for it came back at all. That is a measurement of visibility in AI answers, and it is nothing else. A model’s willingness to say a name and the quality of the software behind it are read off different instruments, and this run only held the first one.

What Does An Appearance Rate Of 45% Actually Tell You?

On its own, very little. Orange Logic’s 45.1% is 13 of Claude’s 15 answers sitting beside 2 of Gemini’s, and those two columns describe different situations for the same company.

So the report carries three numbers per company: how often the name came back, how that splits by assistant, and how far into the reply it landed (the ).

Orange Logic — average rank 13.91, and the rest of the split: ChatGPT 46.7%, Perplexity 1 of 6. Three of the eight reference pages. Write 45.1% into a deck and you’ve described a company that turns up about half the time; open the column view and you’ve described one that’s close to a lock in one place and a rarity in another. Those are two briefings with two different to-do lists attached.

Adobe Experience Manager Assets — 84.3%, average rank 7.00, and steady: Claude 93.3%, ChatGPT 86.7%, Gemini 86.7%, Perplexity 3 of 6. Five reference pages. The average rank is the part I’d underline, since it says the name arrives early in the reply, well before the tail of a long list. Being listed in fewer places than a competitor and still being the one that comes up first is a shape worth being able to see.

Storyteq — 25.5%, average rank 12.77, with Claude 80.0%, ChatGPT 6.7%, Gemini 0.0% of 15 answers, and Perplexity 0 of 6. Two reference pages. Twelve of its thirteen appearances came from one assistant, and that split is what I’d put in front of the rate. When nearly all of a rate comes from one place, it has stopped being a rate and become a fact about that one place.

Every rate on this page has one limit under it. Would landing on more comparison pages move any of them? That’s a separate experiment, I haven’t run it, and nothing here says either way.

The Questions I Asked, And The Nine Answers I Didn’t Get

Measured once, on 2026-09-14 (UTC): five open questions with no company name in any of them, three repeats apiece, four assistants — 60 queries in all.

The five questions, verbatim:

  1. “What is the best digital asset management software right now? Please name the main options.”
  2. “Our marketing team needs one place to store, organise and share our photos, videos and logos. Which digital asset management platform would you recommend?”
  3. “If you compare the leading digital asset management platforms on features, pricing and ease of use, which ones come out on top?”
  4. “Which digital asset management systems do companies most commonly use to manage their brand and marketing assets? Please name the main ones.”
  5. “A company keeps its brand and marketing files in shared cloud folders today and wants to move to a proper digital asset management system. Which solutions usually come up for that?”

Of those 60 queries, 51 came back with an answer I could use. ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude returned 15 each. Perplexity returned 6, and its other nine queries came back rate-limited — the service turned the request away for arriving too often in too short a window — which is why every Perplexity figure above carries its denominator next to it.

Where Perplexity shows 0.0%, read it as “absent from six answers”, which is a far weaker statement than “Perplexity won’t say this name”. Six answers is a narrow window and all I can report is what landed inside it. But the other three assistants answered all fifteen times, so a zero from those three is a measured zero, row by row.

Rows needed one more decision. I merged two names into a single row only where this run showed them splitting, and I’ve left the whole record in the report above: “Smartsheet” appeared in 39 answers and in every one of them alongside “Brandfolder”, which Smartsheet owns and which the comparison pages themselves write as “Brandfolder (by Smartsheet)”, so folding it in leaves Brandfolder at 98.0% — those 39 answers sit inside the 50. The assistants also wrote Adobe’s asset product ten ways, from “Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets” down to a bare “AEM”, and since those are one product under several spellings they became one row at 84.3%. What I left alone matters as much: “Adobe Experience Cloud” and its variants came up in 12 answers and stayed on their own row, because Experience Cloud is the name of a family that includes Analytics and Campaign, and an assistant reaching for it isn’t necessarily pointing at the asset tool. A bare “Adobe” (43.1%) and “Adobe Creative Cloud” (56.9%) stayed separate for the same reason.

Thirty-two rows came out of the table altogether: analyst firms and review sites such as Gartner, Forrester, G2 and Capterra, and vendor feature names such as Adobe Sensei and Firefly, none of which ever appeared without their vendor. Removing a row leaves every other percentage where it was, because the denominator stays at the number of usable answers. Products that aren’t asset managers stayed in, since they’re real products and the assistants really did name them — Microsoft Azure at 33.3%, Google Drive at 27.5%, Dropbox at 19.6%, Canva at 17.6%.

One more note on what those percentages are. I didn’t rate any of these products: I put five questions to four assistants and counted the names that came back, so every figure here is a fact about the answers and none of it is a verdict on the software.

Fifteen answers per assistant buys a coarse instrument. It separates a name that comes back nearly every time from one that shows up once or twice, and that’s about the resolution of it.

At that resolution, two rows a couple of points apart are the same row.

Let The Answers Write The Row List

Dash was named in 8 of the 51 answers and sits on none of the eight comparison pages I counted.

But Dash isn’t the story on its own. OpenText and Sitecore Content Hub are on one page each and came back at 27.5% and 15.7%, while a product on two of those pages drew a blank across all 51 answers. The panel of pages got the first two rows of this ranking right, and then told me very little about the order of anything under them.

The order I’d trust more is the one in the answers. So when you build the competitor table for your own category, pull the row names out of the assistants’ answers as well as off the comparison posts, and look at the rows you’d never have written down yourself. Then put a date on the table, since the assistants will answer again next month and a number with no date beside it can’t show you whether anything moved.

Whether any of this holds outside one category on one day, I can’t say, and I might be reading too much into a single run. One day, 51 usable answers, eight reference pages with seven of them written by vendors who sell here, and one assistant that only answered six times — I’d want a second run before anyone moved a budget on the strength of a single row.
