“Nobody Here Has Written The Roundup For Our Own Category”
Search your own category with “tools” and “comparison” stuck on the end, and the screen fills with roundups other people wrote. You’ve seen that screen.
I got as far as noticing we weren’t in any of them, and stopped there, same as everyone.
The thing is, a page somebody else owns isn’t a page you can move. The one you can move is the roundup of your own category, sitting on your own blog, which nobody here had written.
We published a count the other day: 291 URLs that AI assistants gave as sources in our category, and our own site appeared in zero of them (our own measurement, n=20 responses, ChatGPT/Gemini/Perplexity/Claude, taken 2026-08-12).
The sources that did come up were mostly vendor product pages and “best 5 X” roundups.
So let’s write one. Nothing in it that I couldn’t open an official page and confirm.
What’s Actually Out There For Measuring How AI Talks About Your Brand
Thirteen tools had enough on their official pages to check. Supported assistants run from three up to “17+”, and prices run from $20 a month to the ¥100,000s — over thirty times between the cheapest and the dearest.
The assistant counts don’t line up across vendors, though. Some models are add-ons, one vendor just says “17+”, and nobody agrees on whether AI Overviews and AI Mode are one thing or two. Read the count as a range, not a score.
The order below is alphabetical by name (why, in the next section). For each one: what it calls itself, which assistants its official page lists, and what that same page says about price — in that order, every time.
All of it was checked on 2026-08-12. Amounts are in the currency the page displayed, and tax and billing cycles are handled differently by every vendor.

The self-descriptions are our short paraphrase of what each official page says. We kept the original wording and the URL we took it from in our research notes.
Why The List Is Alphabetical
What we sell is measurement, not a verdict on somebody else’s product. The moment we number these thirteen, the neutrality goes out with the ranking, and the neutrality is the product.
But writing “in no particular order” and leaving it there doesn’t help either. The reader has no way to check whether the order was really arbitrary.
So: alphabetical by name, case ignored, with Japanese names sitting at their romanized position. Anyone who knows the names can re-sort the list and land on the same order we did.
We came out at H, fourth from the top. It has about as much meaning as drawing a middling seat number out of a hat.
Three orderings I looked at and dropped:
- By price: four of the thirteen don’t publish one, so the list can’t be complete, and sorting it makes “cheap” read as “top”
- By number of assistants: add-ons and one “17+” are in there, so we’d be the ones deciding how to count
- By how often each showed up in our own measurement: those 291 URLs came from a single run, which is not a figure you can build a ranking on
Four Of The Thirteen Don’t Put A Number On The Page
Evertune, Peec AI, Scrunch and Mieru-ca SEO all have plan names and a contact route, but I couldn’t find the amount itself anywhere on the official pages.
Which means a marketer who wants a budget figure before talking to anyone can self-serve on nine of the thirteen.
And those nine spread from $20 a month to the ¥100,000s. Even inside one category called “measuring AI visibility”, the thing being charged for — assistants covered, prompts run, domains tracked — changes from vendor to vendor.
That inconsistency in the unit is where I actually got stuck, more than the spread in the amounts. Put the prices side by side and you still haven’t compared anything.
None of this says anything about how good these tools are, either. We haven’t run thirteen tools under the same conditions, so we’re in no position to rank them on accuracy or on how they feel to use.
Publish The List, Then Count Whether It Gets Cited
The roundup for your own category is the one page in this whole business you can put up today without asking anyone’s permission. Start with the fields you can confirm on an official page, and keep the granularity identical down the column.
Then comes the part people skip. Whether the page you wrote actually gets used as a source in an AI answer is a separate thing, and it has to be counted separately.
For us that’s mechanical: at the next scheduled measurement we check whether this article’s URL turns up in the source list in the results file, and we write up what we find. If it doesn’t turn up, that goes in as well.
I’m not going to tell you that publishing a roundup gets you cited. We don’t sell optimization, so we’re not in a position to promise an effect — and one page from one company is not evidence of anything yet.
How much of AI citation goes to the roundup format in the first place is a question somebody else has counted, and I went through those numbers in 63% of AI citations go to “best X” lists.
How this article was made
- Checked 2026-08-12 (JST). All thirteen entries were confirmed by opening each vendor’s own official pages.
- Inclusion rule: the official page has to claim ongoing measurement of a brand’s AI visibility. One-off free graders were left out.
- Order: alphabetical by name, case ignored, with Japanese names placed at their romanized position.
- What we left out: any comparison of accuracy or usability (we haven’t trialled them under equal conditions), and anything the official pages didn’t state (we didn’t fill gaps with guesses).
- The primary-source URLs, the tools we considered and dropped, and the orderings we rejected are kept in our research record.
